DT UK also undertakes innovation scouting within the UK tech ecosystem, with specific areas of interest including: FMC, 5G, Entertainment / Immersive tech and content (AR/VR/MR/XR), Gaming, Consumer & B2B IoT, Smart Assistant/Voice AI, Smart Home, Smart Building, Smart City, B2B/Campus Networks, Cyber, Big Data/AI/ML, Sustainability, HealthTech and Assisted Living. It works closely with DT’s tech incubator hub:raum (hubraum.com) to engage early-stage startups and fuel innovation transfer in areas such as 5G, AI & IoT, creating new business opportunities for both sides. hub:raum is located in Berlin, Krakow and Tel Aviv, offering mentorship, investment, unique access to DT’s networks, clients, technology and free coworking space. It also supports DTCP (dtcp.capital), which has a long history of financing growth-stage companies and helping them scale up. DTCP has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in close to seventy start-ups and growth-stage companies over recent years. In 2019, DTCP raised their $350 million Venture & Growth Fund II with participation from various institutional investors including South Korean telecommunications company SK Telecom.
