Michaela Eschbach
Michaela has an impressive track record as a Founder and Director, both in the not-for-profit and for-profit space.
As co-founder of Form the Future CIC, Michaela drove strategic direction and operations for this multi-award-winning organisation which connects young people with career opportunities. As Managing Director of Founders4Schools, Michaela led the operational, financial and cultural transformation of this ed-tech charity.
Michaela is known for her passion and dedication in successfully driving companies through growth and challenges.
She was winner of the Cambridge News ‘Cambridge’s Most Influential Businesspeople Award’ in 2017 and was included in the EU-Startups’ Top 100: Europe’s Most Influential Women in the Startup and Venture Capital Space in 2023.

Sally Field
Sally joined the team in September 2024 as Senior Sponsor Relationship Manager.
Previously, she led the UK sales team for a global consultancy specialising on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions acquired by Microsoft when they entered the Business Solutions market. While raising her family, Sally shifted to voluntary work, serving as a manager for The Trussell Trust and later a Community First Responder (CFR) for The East of England Ambulance Service. In 2019, she launched a business development consultancy, and by 2023, had also co-founded a social enterprise to address the UK’s talent and skills gap.
Sally says, "I'm thrilled to be back in the tech world, particularly within such a dynamic and inspiring ecosystem. Tech has always captivated me, and joining the Cambridge Wireless team during the delivery of Cambridge Tech Week 2024 was an incredible re-introduction. I’m excited to work with this vibrant team as we gear up for 2025, building on Cambridge Wireless's outstanding track record of delivering impactful, high-quality events."

Rachel Kerr
Rachel joined CW (Cambridge Wireless) in June 2017 as Senior Events & Conference Manager and is now Head of Events. Working alongside industry experts in the Special Interest Groups and the CW event team, Rachel overseas the strategy and delivery for the CW programme of events. She coordinated the inaugural Inclusive Innovation Conference in September 2017 which launched CW’s D&I initiative and manages the CW International Conference (CWIC), the CW Technology & Engineering Conference (CWTEC) and Cambridge Tech Week (CTW). Rachel has over 12 years’ experience running conferences and events, previous roles include event management for a not-for-profit organisation dealing with career and skills development, working for a press monitoring company and, ‘back in the day’ she worked at a very rock-n-roll recording & rehearsal studio.

Laura Farthing
Laura joined the CW team back in 2013 as an Events Intern. Now, as Head of Operations, Laura is responsible for the seamless running of CW’s internal systems and procedures. Methodical by nature, Laura manages a range of activities including the CW website and the annual Board Elections on top of helping out at various events.
Previous to CW, Laura graduated from Cambridge School of Art with a photography degree. Her creative flair and good eye-for-detail has enabled her to support the CW rebrand and website transformation project.
After work and at the weekends, you’ll find Laura skating with the Cambridge Rollerbillies. To say she is a roller derby fan would be an understatement! She lives and breathes the sport so delegates needn’t worry about all the bruises…
Mario Lizzio
Mario is an accomplished Business Development manager, with extensive experience in SAAS, CPAAS, Professional Services and Managed Services . With a proven track record in driving growth and fostering industry relationships, Mario has worked at TransUnion, Altron, Infobip and Connex One in senior roles covering diverse industry sectors and markets globally, achieving strategic alliances and advancing key projects that align with future technological advancements.
At Cambridge Wireless, Mario assumes the role of Business Development Executive, where the primary focus is on expanding the organization’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) through new memberships and sponsorships. In this capacity, Mario is dedicated to engaging with industry leaders, innovators, and thought leaders to strengthen the SIGs, enhance collaborative opportunities, and attract new stakeholders who share a commitment to the growth of wireless and communication technologies.
Clare Kettle
Clare re-joined CW in January 2018 as a part time event manager working alongside alongside industry experts in the Special Interest Group (SIG) champions. Clare manages a series of SIG events including Academic & Industry, Automotive & Transport, Connected Devices, Content Production and Delivery, Industrial IoT, Location, Non-Terrestrial Network, Radio Technology and the Heritage SIG.
Lucy Allinson
Lucy joined CW in 2023 and looks after the planning and delivery of our events—from major conferences and exhibitions to smaller Byte Size events. She’s worked in events for over six years, with experience across universities, the tech sector, and government-backed projects.
She enjoys the buzz of a busy event day, getting stuck into the details, and bringing people together to share ideas and make connections.
Outside of work, Lucy loves live music, getting creative with DIY projects, and hunting down the best coffee spots in Cambridge.
Dr Mario de Miguel Ramos
Mario is a telecommunications engineer and researcher turned into executive manager, with a deep technology background, a solid scientific research experience and a keen interest in entrepreneurship and leadership. He is the Project Manager for UKTIN of CW Cambridge Wireless and co-founder and member of the Advisory Board of Sorex Sensors. At CW, Mario is looking after CW’s partnership in the UK Telecoms Innovation Network, the innovation network for the UK telecoms sector that brings together industry, academics, and government to catalyse telecoms R&D investment, cooperation, and commercialisation.
Mario was the CTO and CEO of Sorex Sensors, a spin out from the University of Cambridge developing highly sensitive gas sensors based on Film Bulk Acoustic Resonators (FBARs). He has been working in the field of FBARs since 2011, starting in the Group of Microsystems and Electronic Materials in the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. In 2015 he joined the Electronic Devices and Materials group of the Engineering Department in the University Of Cambridge as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Mario received his MEng in Telecommunications Engineering by UPM in 2012 and his PhD in Electronic Engineering Systems by the same university in January 2016. His dissertation received the highest qualification, Outstanding Cum Laude unanimously. He has published 19 scientific papers and presented more than 30 contributions and invited talks at international conferences.
Mario is also College Research Associate and supervisor of Sidney Sussex College since 2015, co-founder of the alumni association Clavis and was named Nova Talent 111 (first edition - 2021) in the Tech vertical. The Nova 111 list identifies the best talent across 11 key sectors of the spanish economy who have achieved outstanding results and a driving positive impact.
Tim Osbaldeston
Tim is a business-focussed product and technical strategy leader. He has held senior positions in both global telecommunications corporations (BT, Huawei, Alcatel) and in startup / scaleup environments in IoT, audio signal processing, fintech and AI, in the UK, Sweden and Germany. Tim is equally adept at mapping out a Product future as in bringing order to fledgling organisations and helping B2B and B2B2C startups to scale to market leading positions and high value exits.
Tim’s technical telecoms background and extensive experience of helping businesses to take products from concept, through funding, scaling and exit, make him ideally positioned to assist UKTIN’s network of businesses, in his role as a Senior Supplier Specialist advisor.
Married father of three. Guitarist and sound engineer, with a basement full of obsolete recording equipment.
Roger Hinkson
Roger is Senior Specialist Advisor for UKTIN, with responsibility for the Supplier Specialist Guidance Service. UKTIN is the innovation network for the UK telecoms sector, bringing together industry, academia, and government to catalyse telecoms R&D investment, cooperation, and commercialisation.
He has extensive B2B sales and business development professional experience across diverse industry sectors such as media, management & strategy consulting, learning & development and sport. His recent focus has been advisory work for CW and UK5G. Prior to this, Roger has been involved in client engagement, managing projects and leading teams both here in the UK and abroad. He is a champion of initiatives promoting client engagement excellence, best practice and sales professionalisation globally.
His successful track record is broad and clients include major technology and automotive companies as well as professional services firms. He has held senior level positions for leading media organisations including Informa, IIR and Crain Communications, and consulted on projects for the GSMA and ITU Telecom global and regional events.
Roger also served as co-founder and director of CWJP, launching UK5G Innovation Briefing commissioned by DCMS on behalf of UK5G, and CW Journal – CW's own Thought Leadership platform created for its members to discuss and debate critical, underlying business and technology issues. Outside of work, Roger has an insatiable appetite for good music, particularly of the jazz kind, and loves to attempt very challenging tunes at the piano in his spare time!
