Innovative UK tech firms signing up for TechnologyWorld09

Innovative British technology companies are signing up for TechnologyWorld09, the huge international business-matching event run by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) which last year generated an estimated £30 million in deals.

Delegates at TechnologyWorld09 will meet a host of global giants including Panasonic, Hitachi, Nokia, Orange, PTT and Kayagura Health Solutions.

These international businesses are coming to the UK in search of technology innovation and the evidence suggests that they will find it. Feedback from TechnologyWorld 08 was that almost all (93%) of the international businesses from 38 countries that took part said they were likely to increase their trade with UK businesses as a result of attending.

UK Trade & Investment’s Chief Executive Sir Andrew Cahn said: “TechnologyWorld just gets better and better every year. The UK is able to attract top buyers because of its track record of innovation and excellence in technology. For the UK firms attending, whether SMEs or larger firms, these meetings can be their springboard for global growth.”

TechnologyWorld09 will be considerably enhanced from last year as part of the Government’s strategic vision for Britain’s economic recovery, 'New Industries, New Jobs'. Technological innovation will play a key role in pulling the UK through the global slowdown and positioning it for future growth. UK companies will be demonstrating their solutions at TechnologyWorld09 and showing how UK capability can also support growth globally.

TechnologyWorld09 is one of the largest technology meet-the-buyer events in the UK. The two-day event, taking place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry from 23-24 November, will provide companies with a platform to build new international business. Over 200 delegates have already signed up.

This year, there is an expanded exhibition and a world-class conference programme that will provide industry insight and foresight. Attendees can arrange one-to-one meetings with companies of interest prior to the event through the online meeting facility and sign up to relevant sessions of the conference programme.
