Connected Health Challenges: Franco-British Conference on E-Health and Autonomy - 2012

A Franco-British business event at the British Embassy in Paris will present leading edge technology solutions and best practices from the French and UK e-health sector.

New technologies are transforming our daily lives at breakneck pace. The Internet, email, mobile telephones, supercomputers and microprocessors are all part of our business and our leisure. The challenge faced by governments, companies and medical professionals today is: how do we, safely and cost effectively, harness the power of these new technologies to improve healthcare for the patient?

The Hospitals, Patients, Health & Territories Act of 2008 emphasised the need for the French healthcare system to make the best use of new technologies possible. With healthcare professionals in France tending to cluster in big cities, the need for advanced telemedicine provision in rural areas is growing considerably. In addition, a wealthy and aging population is challenging healthcare providers to ensure their increased autonomy.

The possibilities are exciting, imaginative, creative and daring. ICT offers solutions to healthcare problems old and new, opening up new vistas of potential for patients and carers. The potential for British companies to export their innovative products and services in France is huge.

The event “Connected Health Challenges – Franco-British conference on e-health and autonomy” takes place in the British Embassy in Paris on 15 March 2012.

The one-day event will feature high profile speakers representing French and British e-health institutions, regulatory authorities and industry experts, such ASIP-Santé, Santeos, and the French Ministry of Health

UK entrepreneurs with innovative solutions from interactive pain distraction to medical record management to decision making aids have used UK Trade & Investment to enter the French market successfully. They are strongly seeing the benefit of attending this event to network and present their technology to a large audience of experts, governmental institutions and medical professionals.

UK Trade & Investment France, with their extensive network of public influencers and private firms, is uniquely situated to exploit this potential and to help as many British companies as possible succeed in promoting their products in France.
