Charles Curry is awarded a visiting Professorship from the University of Liverpool
Charles has been a member of the University’s Industry Advisory Board (IAB) for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics since 2008. The IAB is a group of industrialists who regularly meet up to help peer review student projects and faculty activities.Charles, who graduated from the University in 1973 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, said “It is very humbling to be honoured in this fashion by the institution where I studied the foundations that helped my career. It brought back memories recently to revisit the Student Union concert hall where I saw Led Zeppelin play ‘Stairway to Heaven’ for the first time in 1971.”
Earlier this year Charles was also awarded with an Honorary Professorship from the University of Bath in recognition of the collaborative research Chronos has undertaken with its Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering over the past five years. The research has been focused on detection of GPS interference and jamming which was based on a detection algorithm developed by the University. This research has propelled Chronos into the global lead position in the detection of interference and jamming of the signals from the Global Positioning System (GPS) used in every day satellite applications.
