Apply for a place on the India mentoring & partnership programme

A business mentoring scheme for 20 small British technology businesses seeking commercial partnerships with Indian companies has been announced by UKTI, and applications are invited. A programme was announced by the Chancellor on 16 May to support UK high-tech SMEs to do business in India.

The programme will enable 20 selected UK technology SMEs to develop market entry strategies for India and gain access to key decision makers in target Indian companies.

The scheme will be delivered by the Tata Management Training Centre in partnership with UK Trade & Investment.

The tech SMEs will benefit from interacting with, and drawing on the experience of a range of Tata companies across the Tata group to help accelerate business growth with Indian partners.

Tata and UKTI have agreed technology areas that are a focus in India and where the UK has leading capability. The following areas will be a focus for the programme.

1. Next generation software – Improved efficiency / automation of processes etc and management of commercialisation of IP/Innovation

2. Mobile and digital network reliability and performance

3. Green Power – Smart grid technology and integration for energy efficient solutions and urban infrastructure

Please note that UKTI and TMTC will select companies of best fit for this programme. The criteria will include value proposition for India in target area; potential high-growth SME with capability to support business in India; and emphasis on a suitable business fit with Tata companies across the Tata group.

Closing date for applications is Friday 14 June.
