Chronos appoints International Business Manager

Duncan Smith joins Chronos to grow global sales of both existing and products under development

Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, UK, 23 September 2014, Chronos Technology, a leading supplier and manufacturer of time, timing, phase, GNSS and eLoran solutions for infrastructure and testing in the telecoms, energy, financial, defence and security markets, has appointed Duncan Smith as International Business Manager to manage existing and develop new global sales distribution channels for Chronos’ expanding product portfolio.

Duncan is responsible for growing global sales of Chronos’ existing products including SyncWatch™, TimePort™ and the Synchronisation MasterClass, as well as products under development.

Duncan, who has over twenty years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, joins Chronos from Exalt Communications where he was Regional Sales Director for 3 years responsible for appointing and managing a global channel, and winning new business mainly with mobile network operators. Prior to this he was Regional Sales Director with Dragonwave Inc for 6 years where he built new business in point-to-point microwave markets in multiple countries within the EMEA region. Prior to this he ran his own consultancy specialising in sales management and account management performance in markets which included wireless in-building and wide area mobile telecom networks.

Duncan was Regional Director for Broadband with Alcatel UK (Newbridge Networks) in 2000 for two years where he built and managed a team to launch into the broadband radio markets in Western Europe. Prior to this he had a technical apprenticeship with BT rising to manager level and subsequently moved to Ericsson where he sold major voice switches to UK fixed and mobile network operators.
