CW’s Georgie Hay Takes the Leap for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity

When the opportunity came up to jump out of a plane for charity, Cambridge Wireless team member Georgie Hay decided to take on the challenge.

In April 2026, Georgie joined a group of fundraisers taking part in the Project Cambridge Charity Skydive, in support of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity - an organisation providing vital care and support for people in Cambridgeshire living with advanced serious illness and end-of-life conditions.

The skydive saw participants leap from 15,000 feet above Cambridgeshire, reaching speeds of up to 125mph before floating back down across the countryside. The initiative, organised by Project Cambridge, brought together members of the wider Cambridge ecosystem including business leaders, community figures and technology organisations, all united behind an important cause.

The fundraising effort followed news of significant funding pressures facing Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, with planned reductions impacting hospice bed capacity and services across the region.

Reflecting on the experience, Georgie said:

“It was one of the most amazing and rewarding things I’ve ever done. Knowing it was all for such an important local charity made the experience incredibly special. The support from everyone involved on the day was amazing.”

At Cambridge Wireless, community has always been at the heart of what we do, and we’re incredibly proud to see members of our team stepping outside their comfort zones to support causes that make a real difference locally.

A huge congratulations to Georgie and everyone who took part in the skydive and thank you to all those who donated and supported the fundraising efforts.

Thanks to the incredible support of the local community, the campaign has already raised more than £26.1K for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. If you’d like to support, you can donate here.
