Pivoting in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic: PwC has launched a new Private Business report
In 2020, we saw the biggest upheaval of the UK business community in modern times. Overnight, entire workforces shifted to remote working. International borders closed, with flights grounded. Logistics and supply chains required immediate reorganisation. At the same time, business leaders began to reimagine their role in society and to consider the legacy they would leave for future generations.
Through a series of interviews, PwC captured the realities of life inside family and privately-run businesses all over the country, as they pivoted in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here, we reflect on those experiences - and consider the transformations that look set to endure.
“Within the private business community, we've seen countless examples of ingenuity and resilience, as business leaders used the crisis as a catalyst for change and innovation," said Arif Ahmad, Private Business Partner at PwC. "As a result, many business owners and managers will start 2021 with a wholly different outlook on their business, their clients and their people. It has been a truly transformational year.”
