AI in the UK: How do we take on BigTech and win?

The UK’s Industrial Strategy sets out an ambitious AI plan, but delivering this vision requires collaboration and engagement between government and the wider ecosystem. The UK is investing billions of public and private funds into AI and a lot of this is going straight out the door towards the big cloud vendors who provide the compute infrastructure.

Join us as we announce a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to transform the AI landscape in the UK and Europe.

At its core, the initiative tackles one of the biggest bottlenecks in AI, access to compute, IP and technical expertise. Rather than leaving start-ups and enterprises reliant on Big Tech or external providers, it will create a collaborative ecosystem offering shared engineering resources, affordable compute, and dedicated investment firepower.

This represents the first attempt to build a shared AI infrastructure in Europe, breaking down cost and access barriers that have long held back innovation. By creating a collaborative hub for engineers, researchers and enterprises, it aims to accelerate the growth of a new wave of globally competitive AI companies.

Join us at our launch event in collaboration with Cambridge Tech Week to hear about how we are building the businesses of the future and putting the UK at the centre of the AI economy. You will hear from Dr Rosemary Francis, CTO of CommonAI Compute on what we are building and how it is going to change the world.
