What Cambridge Inspired Next? Our journey to Cambridge Tech Week 2026 began with learning.

Through the 2025–2026 Innovation Policy Ignition Programme (IPIP) at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce led the Serbian team in a pilot alongside the Silesia region of Poland. It gave us an opportunity to learn from and share with the Cambridge ecosystem  meeting academics, entrepreneurs and innovation leaders, and exploring how research, talent and ideas become innovation, commercial opportunity and growth.

The programme ended. The relationships did not.

So we asked: what comes next? Our answer is to return to Cambridge .This time bringing some of Serbia's innovators with us.

From Scientific Heritage to Today's Innovators

Serbia has a scientific heritage of which we are justifiably proud: Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin, Milutin Milanković and Mileva Marić Einstein, as well as Serbian-origin engineers who contributed to the American Apollo programme. We must apologise that Nikola Tesla will not be joining us in Cambridge this time. His inventions, however, most certainly will . They are rather difficult to leave behind.

And the story continues.

A new generation of Serbian scientists, engineers, founders, start-ups and technology companies is working across AI, biotechnology, cybersecurity, healthtech, computational science and advanced engineering.

What Is Serbia Building Today?

At the Serbian Pavilion at Cambridge Tech Week, more than 20 Serbian companies and innovators will offer a glimpse into this emerging technology ecosystem.

TriCell combines genomics, bioinformatics and predictive modelling for precision livestock breeding. BioEridan is exploring marine biotechnology and longevity research. CyberParent applies AI to identify bullying and harmful content in children's digital communications, while Safe4AI develops privacy-first AI for organisations working with sensitive data. ComData/AI.ZET is applying AI across the clinical-study lifecycle, while Persida connects bioinformatics, computational biology, secure data and software development. 

At enterprise scale, Orion Telekom is developing AI infrastructure across computing, cloud, data centres and secure connectivity. Reputeo is developing an AI intelligence environment for organisational decision-making, while First Line Software, Empinity and Comtrade System Integration bring expertise across AI, software engineering, digital transformation and systems integration.

Among the individual innovators is mathematician and R&D engineer Marko Gavrilović, creator of his own Independent 3D Multiphysics CAE Platform  proprietary technology for simulating complex physical and engineering systems, with potential applications across aerospace, space technology, automotive engineering and advanced manufacturing. Marko has also received an offer to pursue a PhD at the University of Cambridge  a fitting connection between Serbia's next generation of scientific talent and Cambridge.

We are not coming to Cambridge because we have all the answers. We are coming because Cambridge is one of the places where the right questions are asked.

At Christ's College, Serbian innovators will meet people from the Cambridge and wider UK ecosystem to explore opportunities across R&D, technology partnerships, commercialisation, investment, market access and talent.
