Role: Sales Development Representative

Join Cambridge Wireless at an exciting time of growth! We are looking for a Sales Development Representative to support the growth of our Membership and Sponsorship activity.

Your focus and responsibilities will be on identifying new organisations, starting conversations, and pre-qualifying opportunities, which are then passed to our Business Development team for full qualification and closure.

Outbound Prospecting

  • Identifying and researching new companies aligned with CW’s deep tech ecosystem
  • Building and managing target account lists
  • Reaching out to prospects via email, LinkedIn, other sales systems, in-person and phone
  • Engaging senior decision makers (CEO, Founder, Head of BD, Marketing, Product)

Pre Qualification

  • Running first discovery conversations
  • Assessing relevance, interest and strategic fit
  • Recording clear qualification notes
  • Handing qualified opportunities to the BD team

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintaining accurate CRM records
  • Logging outreach activity and outcomes
  • Supporting pipeline visibility and reporting
  • Create contracts and support sponsorship fulfilment

Key Requirements

Essential

  • 3–5 years’ experience in an SDR / BDR or outbound focused sales role
  • Proven success generating net new outbound opportunities
  • Experience in B2B technology or deep tech environments
  • Confident speaking with senior stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Structured, disciplined and target driven approach

Desirable

  • Background in connectivity, telecoms, wireless, IoT, semiconductors or related tech
  • Degree educated
Key Responsibilities

1. Drive Sales & Business Growth

  • Research and prioritise organisations that align with CW’s membership and sponsorship offers
  • Build and maintain target lists and simple account plans to create a steady flow of opportunities
  • Start conversations with senior stakeholders by email, LinkedIn, phone and at CW events
  • Hold first conversations to understand needs, timing and budget context and confirm fit
  • Book meetings and hand qualified opportunities over to the Business Development team
  • Work to clear activity and outcome targets (e.g., outreach, conversations, meetings booked and qualified handovers)

2. Build Strong Stakeholder Relationships

 Build trust with prospects by tailoring your approach and clearly explaining the value of CW membership and sponsorship.

  • Work closely with the Business Development team on target accounts, messaging, qualification and smooth handover
  • Partner with marketing and events to make the most of campaigns, content and CW activity in your outreach
  • Keep CRM records up to date, including contacts, activity and clear notes to support timely follow-up
  • Represent CW professionally and warmly in every interaction
  • Share feedback from conversations (common questions, objections and market signals) to strengthen our targeting and messaging
