Role: Senior Business Development Manager

Join Cambridge Wireless at an exciting time of growth! We are looking for an experienced senior business development manager with heavy emphasis on event sponsorship.

You will play a key role in driving sales and expanding our sponsorship and membership base, working closely with the Sales and Membership Team.

This is more than just a sales role, it’s an opportunity to shape the future of event sponsorship and support membership growth at Cambridge Wireless – taking ownership of the end-to-end event sponsorship cycle as well as supporting membership acquisition, building lasting partnerships, and be part of growing a developing sales team.

Key Requirements
  • Education: Degree preferred but not essential
  • Sales Enthusiasm: Passion for sales and business development
  • B2B Sales Experience: 3-5 years experience - Ideally within the advanced connectivity or deep technology space, or similar industries
  • Proven Track Record: Strong history of hitting and exceeding sales targets
  • New Business Development: Skilled in prospecting and winning new sponsors
  • Pipeline Management: Ability to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline- demonstrating resilience and persistence.
  • Exceptional Communication: Confident engaging with stakeholders from managers to C-suite executives
  • Tech & Industry Interest: Keen understanding of technology trends and current affairs
  • Flexibility & adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions
  • Organisation & Time Management: Structured approach with attention to detail
  • Proactive & Results-Driven: Self-motivated with a commercial mindset
  • Collaboration & Independence: Thrives in both team and individual settings
Key Responsibilities

 1. Drive Sales & Business Growth

  • Manage the full sales cycle, generating revenue through new business and account management
  • Identify and target key clients through research and strategic outreach
  • Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets
  • Maintain a detailed and accurate CRM pipeline of UK and International opportunities to reflect all opportunities and sales activities
  • Define and negotiate sponsorship packages confidently to close deals and build lasting partnerships
  • Provide key account management to retain and grow sponsorship relationships
  • Deliver highly accurate sales forecasts with +90% precision
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and contribute innovative sales strategies

2. Build Strong Stakeholder Relationships

 Deliver engaging and persuasive sales presentations to individuals and groups

  • Work closely with internal teams, ensuring the right people are involved at key stages
  • Align sponsorship cycles with customer budget planning for better forecasting
  • Bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to help drive team success
  • Collaborate effectively with marketing, production, and operations teams
  • Ensure sales efforts are in sync with wider business strategy
