MediaTek's Wireless Products
MediaTek has cumulatively shipped well over 2.5Bn cellular chipsets since entering the cellular market segment less than a decade ago. MediaTek’s “total solution” turnkey approach, and insatiable appetite for excellence in modem solutions, has enabled our customers to successfully deploy MediaTek powered handsets in over 150 countries worldwide. Most recently, our 3G chipsets have been at the forefront of enabling the democratization of smartphones for the mass market. In addition to cellular chipsets, MediaTek has developed leading edge wireless connectivity technology, including Wi-Fi, BT GPS and NFC.
MediaTek in the UK
MediaTek has two sites in the UK contributing to the companies development of wireless handset technology -
- The R&D site in Cambourne: the Cambridge team focuses on Protocol Stack and Multimedia software development and systems-level development and test.
- The R&D site in West Malling, Kent: the Kent team develop RF technology, including multimode cellular transceivers.
