Ziconix chosen to showcase its technology
Cambridge, UK – Embargo until, March 29th 2010, Ziconix which recently had its technology launched in Cambridge on the Local Secrets website, was chosen as one of four companies to present its technology in the Innovation Hothouse session at the Cambridge Wireless International Conference.
Local Secrets has recently launched the first online restaurant booking system which uses Ziconix’s revolutionary in2vox technology developed in Cambridge. Although online booking for a few select restaurants utilising computer based systems has been available for some time, most restaurants cannot be booked online, as like most small businesses they only utilise the telephone to take bookings.
Ziconix have solved this problem for all small businesses by automating the placing of a voice call to the restaurant when the user selects to make a booking online. The restaurant simply accepts the booking by pressing keys on the phone and the system completes the process by providing the name and contact number of the customer. If the restaurant declines at busy times and the customer has selected a second choice, the system will automatically try the next on the list to secure a table. The customer is advised of the booking result on the webpage, by email or by a premium rate SMS message if requested. “No more searching through yellow pages for another number” says Matt Sims, Marketing Director of Ziconix, who made the presentation at the conference. “It has been a real privilege for us to be selected to present at the conference, as we are seeking route to market partners to exploit the technology in the many areas it can be used for.
