British Business Pavilion at the Islamic Economic Forum

UK Trade & Investment's British Business Pavilion at the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), in London, 29-31 October 2013, will provide UK tech companies with an outstanding opportunity to network with Smart City decision makers from across the world.

The 9th World Islamic Forum (WIEF) will take place at the ExCel Centre in London on 29th to 31st October 2013.  This is the first time that the 'Muslim Davos' will have taken place outside the Muslim world and will be the most ambitious yet.  More than 1,500 delegates are expected from around 80 countries, including some of the world's highest-growth markets.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will be running a British Business Pavilion (BBP) alongside the WIEF, bringing together business leaders and decision makers from the UK, the Muslim world and beyond.  The BBP programme will complement the WIEF programme by allowing more detailed, business-focused, discussion of some of the key global themes of the Forum plenary.

The BBP has four strands - finance, healthcare, education and smart cities.  The smart cities session will cover:

  • Construction
  • Water
  • Energy
  • ICT

Participants will include high-profile industry and government figures, from the UK and overseas.  Participants in the BBP will also be able to attend WIEF plenary sessions, including Capitalising the Online Market and Developing Global Connectivity, workshops and other networking events.
