Connecting the 50 billion devices - but what’s the big picture?
One only has to look at an internet connectivity counter to see the rate of connected devices - but what are they and more importantly, how is the technology ecosystem and the world around it changing to drive this increase, adapt to it and harness its potential? As the title of this event suggests, specialist speakers will be looking to the future to answer these pertinent questions.
Antony Rix, Senior Consultant in the Communications and Wireless Group of TTP commented: “Almost everyone in the developed world, and increasingly in the developing world, is touched by connectivity. To many people, the smartphone and mobile services such as e-mail, web, Facebook or Twitter have become integral to our daily lives as consumers. It’s also affecting the way we do business. Yet it’s clear that issues such as privacy are critically important, and it’s far from obvious whether or how these technologies and their impact on our lives will evolve. This event looks at key aspects of this connected future.”
Devised by the Cambridge Wireless Connected Devices Special Interest Group (SIG), the event is a follow on of past events around the connected devices concept. SIG Champion, Nick Hunn of WiFore Consulting says; “Previous events covered topics such as security in the connected world and emerging applications for wireless technology. Here, we aim to uncover more complex issues and look at the opportunities offered by a world of connectivity. Our speakers are highly experienced in their fields and have unique views and perspectives on the highly popular idea of a connected world.”
The event will take place on 7th November at The Talking Point, TTP Group, Melbourn. To register to attend this event or for further information, visit the Cambridge Wireless events webpage “2020 – Visions of a connected world”
