Taylor Vinters throws party for Cambridge Wireless and the e-Luminate Festival - and you're invited!

To celebrate the inaugural meeting of the ‘Wireless Heritage SIG’ on Thursday 6 February, Cambridge Wireless and Taylor Vinters invite you to an informal drinks party and the launch of ‘Colour Shift’ – an innovative lighting installation by Cambridge-based artist, Susie Olczak.

Susie Olczak is Artist in Residence at Taylor Vinters and this latest installation is part of the e-Luminate Cambridge Festival which connects ambitious art with ingenious technology to shed light on low carbon innovation. It will light up the glass facade of Merlin Place, creating the illusion that the whole building is moving and animated by lighting.

The Merlin Place piece is one of two vertical up-lit lighting installations, focusing on vertical uprights within modern and Medieval architecture. The two installations aim to draw people through the city from the world-renowned Science Park (Merlin Place) to the historic city centre (Kings College). The concept is based around the idea of altering people’s perception of a space – the way they experience and use a space and to create optical illusions.  The piece will use sensors, movement, depth and colour to really bring the installations to life.  Full details here.

When:  Directly after the Wireless Heritage SIG, Thursday 6 February, 17.30 – 19.30

Where: Taylor Vinters, Merlin Place, Milton Road, Cambridge

What:   Informal drop in.  Light-themed drinks.  Artist talks at 17.45, 18.15 and 18.45
