Event Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, including delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, partners, suppliers, staff, contractors, and volunteers, at all Cambridge Wireless (CW) events and whether they are in‑person, online, or hybrid.

All CW events are designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and professional environments where people can connect, learn, and share ideas. We expect all participants to help create a positive experience for everyone.

All Cambridge Wireless activities are underpinned by our values, which are:

1. Our expectations

All participants are expected to:

  • Be Respectful: Treat all other participants with respect, courtesy, professionalism and dignity. Do not engage in any demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour or speech.
  • Be Considerate: Be mindful of your surroundings and your fellow participants. CW events bring together people from diverse backgrounds, roles, and experiences.
  • Be Alert: Alert event organizers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
  • Be Collaborative: Engage in open discussions and activities in a constructive and respectful manner- while being considerate of differing viewpoints.
  • Adhere to Event Rules: Follow all applicable rules and instructions from CW staff, the event organiser and venue personnel.
2. Unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment: Any unwanted physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct that has the purpose or effect of violating someone's dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Unwelcome sexual advances or suggestive behaviour.
    • Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including in presentation slides).
    • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion.
    • Deliberate intimidation, or stalking.
    • Unwanted photography or recording.
  • Bullying: Offensive, intimidating, malicious, or insulting behaviour, and any misuse of power that can make a person feel vulnerable, upset, humiliated, undermined, or threatened.
  • Disruption: Sustained disruption of talks, meetings, or other events.
  • Inappropriate Content: Publishing or posting materials that are bigoted, hateful, racially offensive, advocate illegal activity, or contain vulgar, obscene, or indecent language or images.

This Code of Conduct applies during CW sessions, at CW social events, online interactions, and on social media where behaviour relates to CW or a CW event.

3. Reporting concerns and violations

If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately:

  • To a member of CW staff at the event, or
  • By Email: events@cambridgewireless.co.uk

All reports will be taken seriously and handled promptly and discreetly.

4. Consequences of breaches

CW reserves the right to take any action deemed appropriate in response to breaches of this Code of Conduct. This may include:

  • A verbal or written warning
  • Removal from a session or event without refund
  • Exclusion from future CW events
  • Suspension from access to social media accounts
  • In serious cases, escalation to venue security or relevant authorities

CW staff decisions regarding appropriate action are final.

5. Photography and Filming

Please be aware that photography and filming may take place at our events. By attending, you consent to your image and possibly also your voice being recorded and used in CW promotional materials. If you do not wish your image to be used in this way, please inform a member of CW staff at the registration desk.
