Join the Cambridge Wireless Radio Technology SIG for an event exploring the technologies and innovations that will enable the next generation of wireless connectivity

As the wireless industry increasingly focuses on AI-enabled digital technologies, it is important not to overlook the analogue RF technologies that underpin every wireless connection. The performance of antennas, filters, low-noise amplifiers and other RF front-end components, together with the ability to accurately predict radio propagation, ultimately places fundamental limits on spectrum efficiency, energy efficiency and user experience.

Join the Cambridge Wireless Radio Technology Special Interest Group (SIG) for a half-day event exploring the technologies and innovations that will enable the next generation of wireless connectivity. Bringing together experts from industry and academia, the event will showcase advances in RF engineering and propagation modelling that could help networks make more efficient use of spectrum, reduce interference, enhance energy efficiency and support increasingly demanding connectivity requirements.

The programme will explore innovative approaches to:

  • Propagation and coverage – enhanced propagation prediction and modelling tools, embedding 3D full-polarimetric antenna characteristics,  to improve network planning, coverage.
  • Interference mitigation – technologies and techniques for managing co-channel and adjacent-channel interference in increasingly congested spectrum environments.
  • Frequency agility – advanced RF technologies enabling greater flexibility in how wireless systems access and utilise spectrum.
  • RF front-end innovation – developments in antennas, filters, low-noise amplifiers and interference suppression technologies to improve radio performance and potentially facilitate spectrum sharing.
  • Transmitter linearity and out-of-band emissions – approaches to controlling unwanted emissions while maintaining or improving energy efficiency.
  • Energy-efficient wireless systems – RF technologies that can contribute to more sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient network deployments.

As spectrum becomes increasingly valuable and wireless systems continue to evolve, advances at the RF and propagation layers will be critical to delivering the performance, flexibility and efficiency required by future networks.
