This workshop is part of an interdisciplinary team effort targeted at developing a better understanding of the potential impact of ICT and 5G networks in vertical markets. 5G is a topic of great strategic importance in Europe. However much of the debate to date is driven purely from a technology perspective and not from the perspective of the verticals that will increasingly be using these networks of the future.
As part of the study, the European Commission requires input from industry experts in the fields of Utilities, Health, Automotive, Transport and others. The workshop will also provide you with the opportunity to find out more about the study and influence Europe's 5G strategy, policy and research activities.
This first workshop will be an interactive event and will take a deep dive into four sample verticals to which we have prepared briefing documents - namely Automotive, Utilities, Health, and Transport. These briefing documents are subject to enhancements until the workshop, and the documents for the remaining 3 verticals will be provided shortly.
The second workshop, on Monday 19th October 2015, will follow on from the first through a focus on the environments in which different verticals operate such as the home, the city, the workplace and non-urban locations. Please let us know if you would like to register your interest for this workshop as well.
This workshop will take place at 25 Avenue Beaulieu, European Commission offices in Brussels, from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday 22nd September 2015. Lunch will be provided.
Attendance is free, but places are limited to one person per organisation so please email the workshop team at Tech4i2 5gworkshop1@tech4i2.com (lead partner) to secure your place. If you are able to attend please bring ID documents with you to obtain access to the workshop.
