CW delivers a range of programmes which run throughout the year

CW is the lead partner in UK5G, the national innovation network committed to the acceleration of 5G adoption in the UK. Funded by DCMS (but independent and impartial), UK5G is led by a senior advisory board of industry experts and works to stimulate discussion around the implementation challenges and commercial opportunities of this ground-breaking technology.

ghd Innovation Hive

CW is partnering with leading hair tools producer, ghd, to design the future of hair styling. A team of cutting-edge engineers has been assembled from the CW community and tasked with the design of a prototype connected hair styling device. This first Innovation Hive is running from October 2018 to January 2019 in the Bradfield Centre, Cambridge.

Discovering Start Ups Competition

Now in its 9th year this annual competition is an opportunity for start-ups, early stage companies or entrepreneurs working in the field of technology to get noticed and pitch their idea to an elite panel of industry leaders and potential investors. The judging panel is made up of business leaders from Google, BT, Deloitte UK, Samsung, London Business Angels, Barclays, Wayra, and many more.

CW Unplugged is an initiative designed to inspire young entrepreneurs, engineers and technology leaders to come forward and share their insights informally. CW Unplugged events are renowned for attracting passionate individuals from the tech scene – so they are well attended for the networking alone.

CW Clinics

A monthly opportunity for organisations seeking advise on a particular issue - be it legal, tax, marketing etc - to have a 1:1 consultation with one of the many functional experts within CW's membership base.

IoTUK Boost

IoTUK Boost is funded by Government, through IoTUK and the Digital Catapult, underlining the importance of IoT for the UK’s digital economy. CW has partnered with the Smart Cambridge Programme, Everynet and Cambridge-based Iotic Labs, to support a minimum of 10 SMEs in their quest to find solutions to genuine challenges faced within the Cambridge region and to explore the market opportunity for the products and services they create.

Diversity & Inclusion

CW recognises the need for greater diversity and inclusion in the technology sector so we are developing a collaborative programme to promote and champion this agenda as a critical business success factor.

Costa Coffee: Shop of the Future

What does the most technologically advanced coffee shop look like? In what ways could technology improve the product and service offering to customers, and how could digital solutions improve production efficiency? CW united Costa Coffee with forward-thinking entrepreneurs to brainstorm the art of the possible.
