Enabling Smart Cities and the Internet of Things (IoT)

Brought to you by Mitra Innovation

Traditional challenges of different systems with different data, schemas and classification has led to massive inefficiencies. This is unacceptable to make Smart Cities and the IoT to operate. We need the ability to integrate in real-time. Mitra Innovation’s BIM-as-a-Service offers such a solution.

About the event

This webinar addressed the fundamental issues faced by Smart Cities and explores a solution.

Speaker 1: STEVEN EGLINGTON – IoT, Smart Cities and Asset Data

Overview: Steven will give an overview on the IoT and Smart Cities, what drives it, and what opportunities are there. He will outline the need for real-time data integration across dispersed systems, data schemas, and formats. BIM / Asset Information – With reference to the UK’s BIM maturity levels, Steven will highlight the relevant contents in the ‘Digital Built Britain’ document produced by the UK’s BIM taskforce which will require interconnected, shared and accessible data. Steven will also discuss how the skills of data management specialists need to be harnessed as part of the shift towards a Digital Economy, with the IoT being one of the enablers in this.

Speaker 2: SUDARAKA – Enabling Smart Cities with the BIMaaS Platform

Complementing Stevens discussion, Sudaraka will explain how BIMaaS platform could be used to build the backbone of Smart City initiatives. He will explain how different components of the BIMaaS platform can help build sophisticated Smart Cities. The discussion will be based on asset data integration, complex event processing from different sensors (IoT devices), and an analysis platform for collecting data. Mitra Innovation’s BIM-as-a-Service offers such a solution. Join this webinar to learn more at www.BIMaaS.uk
