About the event

This event is specifically targeted at those in professional, scientific, and technical roles and the issues they face. We will build on prior initiatives such as workplace Mental Health First Aid, but no experience with mental health is required – we are aiming for a frank, open, and practical discussion with people of all backgrounds.

This event is invitation-only, but please do share with appropriate colleagues.
The cost of day is £60+VAT / person. We can provide evidence of attendance for CPD if necessary.

Cambridge is a global hub for life sciences and technology, with hundreds of companies employing the brightest and best to deliver a vast array of ground-breaking innovations. But despite their brilliance, our employees are still human. Complex and mentally challenging work done on tight timescales will lead to stress and burnout, and the recent tech downturn has only increased pressures as colleagues become saddled with uncertainty and increased workloads. We need strategies to increase mental resilience, not just for morale and retainment, but also to maintain our competitive edge.

Starting at 09.30am with coffee and light breakfast, Cambridge Design Partnership will provide an introduction to the day along with their recent work on neurodiversity and mental Health. We will then hear from:

  • Imogen Wall - Humanitarian, disaster response expert, qualified therapist and mental health instructor.
  • Sonya Barlow: An award-winning founder of careers and inclusion consultancy @LMFNetwork, the best-selling author of Unprepared to Entrepreneur, and a BBC presenter. She is verified as a LinkedIn Changemaker, Top Voice and Global Content Creator with 2 Ted Talks.
  • The Richmond Fellowship, Laura Whitehouse: Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Lunch will be provided by Cambridge Design Partnership whilst networking with peers.

The afternoon workshop will be run by Cambridge Design Partnership’s professional facilitators who will guide delegates in identifying current challenges across a range of topics. We’ll then fuse best practices from our respective companies with their learnings from the morning’s talks. End by 4 - 4.15pm.
