A unique chance for Cambridge. Join us for a concert of traditional music from Jiangxi that incorporates the sounds of fine Jingdezhen porcelain. Jingdezhen has been China’s capital of porcelain since the 11thcentury. Their finest pieces are ‘resonant as a chime’ producing sounds that are clear, melodious and unheard by most ears outside of China.
This is a very rare and special opportunity to see and hear Jingdezhen music with an expert ensemble as they visit from South-Eastern China.
‘The Charm of China’ Concert opens the ‘Ancient Arts in Contemporary China’ Art Exhibition. Hand-made master-level porcelain pieces from Jingdezhen will be displayed as part of the exhibition. There will be a post-concert Q&A session with the musicians followed by an exclusive pre-view of the ‘Ancient Arts in Contemporary China’ Art Exhibition. Not to be missed!
