About Paul
Paul is director of Compton Innovation, consulting on digital transformation. He has considerable experience applying AI and digital technologies to telecommunications. His career has spanned many roles including software development, technology venturing and start-ups, leading international collaborations and standards, and R&D leadership. As Director of Research at BT he created an award-winning global team developing data and AI powered solutions to some of the most challenging telecommunications and digital problems. In this role his team produced one of the largest UK AI patent portfolios.
Paul is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in computing at Ulster University. He is also a Board member and Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals where he is a keen advocate for careers in engineering and technology.
