ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Dr Rosemary Francis, Altair

Dr Francis founded Ellexus, the I/O profiling company, in 2010 following her PhD in computing architecture and career in the semiconductor industry. After building the company for 10 years, it was acquired by Altair in 2020. She now continues her technical role as Chief Scientist within the PBS works team where the Ellexus tools now reside. She is also the VP of product for the Ellexus tools.

Dr Rosemary Francis is an expert on computer architecture, high-performance computing and analytics. She has a keen interest in promoting diversity in engineering, as well as education initiatives to get more children learning about all spheres of computer science. Dr Francis describes herself as an obsessive technologist who "looks up"; she has always had to know “why” and “how”.

Alison Taylor, Conscious Communications

During Alison's career, she has worked along-side some of the best in the business, supporting major international corporations and blue-chip brands, as well as entrepreneurial SMEs and start-ups in industries as diverse as education, eCommerce, health and nutrition, construction and sustainability.

She is now Managing Director of Conscious Communications - a PR agency based at St John's Innovation Centre working with clients such as AstraZeneca, Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Science Centre.

Conscious Communications was born from a passion for communications and a desire to build an agency that delivers a superior service through transparent, honest and long-lasting working relationships with its clients.
