The UK Tour of Jingdezhen Ceramic Art will be held at The Guildhall Cambridge on the 18-20 June 2019.
With over 1,700 years of history in porcelain making, Jingdezhen has, since the Song dynasty been known as the “porcelain city”. In the 16th century, Jingdezhen porcelain became a symbol of wealth and status in Europe, a reputation that lasted well into the 18th century. These exquisite porcelains, crafted in the imperial dynasties remain the most collectable antiques to this day.
Six years ago the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute held the hugely successful “White Gold” ceramic art exhibition, hosted by the world renown Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England. The exhibition was so well received both by the local and artistic communities, that they have demanded to see more of this stunning porcelain.
From the 18th to 20th June 2019, Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute proudly returns to Cambridge, showcasing the history of traditional porcelain making alongside modern Chinese contemporary ceramic art. Artworks crafted by 60 top ceramic artists from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute will be exhibited at The Guildhall, Cambridge; showcasing pastels, colours both ancient and new, high-temperature coloured glazes, blue & white, and more.
Please do join us at this special and rare exhibition celebrating thousands of years’ Chinese Ceramic Art.
