Summary

The Software Engineer will report to the Smart System and Electronics Manager and will be responsible for the development of software for systems and products and will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Kries-Energietechnik, Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.

TE Connectivity’s Software Systems Engineering Teams provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software operating/automation systems, including, but not limited to, utility, development, and diagnostic software. They perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Design and development of efficient and complex algorithms
•    Development of decision support systems
•    Validate concepts by high-quality software prototypes and demonstrators
•    Maintain and update existing algorithms to ensure responsiveness, accuracy and efficiency
•    Analyze data to identify trends and patterns
•    Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
•    Create documentation
•    Collaborate with other software developers
 

What your background should look like:

  • Above-average degree (2:1 or higher) in relevant field with academic/professional experience in software engineering.
  • Experience with prototyping languages (Matlab, Python, Julia).
  • Hands-on experience in efficient software development (C#, C++, Java).
  • Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithm development.
  • Understanding of machine learning frameworks (Keras) and libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Familiarity with data structures, modeling, and software architecture.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Team collaboration and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to execute engineering deliverables.
  • Strong customer service mindset, delivering quality on time.
  • Fluent communication for effective collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, strong planner, adept at balancing priorities.
  • Excellent motivational skills in a dynamic environment.
