Smart Cities Conference : Wednesday 30th October 2013
By 2050, 75% of the world’s population is expected to live in cities. Cities occupy only 2% of the earth’s land, yet account for 60-80% of energy consumption. The Smart Cities BBP event on 30 October will demonstrate how the UK’s ICT, SMART technology and construction, transportation and environmental expertise are combining to drive the creation of low carbon future cities.
The Smart Cities conference on 30 October will explore how governments, industry and standards boards can work together to address the challenges of rapid urbanisation and explore different policy approaches for the developed and developing world alike. The sessions will facilitate interactive discussion between experts in the field, decision makers and solution providers focusing on
- the built environment
- energy and smart grids
- water management
- sustainable urban development
- the role of technology as an enabler
