Cambridge Network Breakfast Networking: Social media and crisis management

Cambridge Network's April breakfast networking will focus on social media and avoiding a crisis, what to do and what not to do. We'll also look at crisis communications, how to get yourself out of a situation and there will be examples of good and bad PR!

Sue will be talking about how social media has become an essential part of crisis management for your business. How can you use it to your advantage, to take negative sentiment and turn it into something positive? How can you regain control of the narrative so you can get across your side of the story? There'll be plenty of best practice examples on offer too - from the YO! Sushi customer who changed his mind over the cost of his burger, to the business owner who lived to regret having a tantrum on TripAdvisor...

Paul will be talking about how to create a crisis communications plan and deliver it when the wheels come off. How do you plan for the unforeseeable future emergency? Who leads your communications when the media is baying at the door? How do you assess your business for potential areas of customer or investor unhappiness? We’ll go through the groundwork and the outlines of how to build a plan right for you and discuss some of the greatest PR disasters, the good the bad and the ugly.
