AI in networks: the broader context for telecoms

AI has the potential to be a gamechanger in telecoms – but it’s important to balance opportunity against hype and realistic expectations and understand how it intersects with numerous other trends. This session examines AI’s key use-cases, such as its role in 5G – is it an enabler or a hard pre-requisite? Should we expect it to be better at controlling costs or generating new revenues first? And at the same time as the network is being automated, the apps/devices will be automating how to use it (or abuse it). There will be both synergies & tensions – and this session will aim to help both software developers and network specialists understand the wider business & technology context for deployment.
