Data protection issues in the context of wearables

January 28th is European data protection day. This year, the date has particular significance with the now finalised General Data Protection Regulation looming on the horizon. With fines of 4% of annual revenues for breaching the new rules, enhanced rights for individuals and emboldened regulators, it is essential for wearable solutions to be designed to ensure compliance with the new regime. In this session, Ross McKean, head of data protection at Olswang, will consider what the new rules mean for providers and users of data collected from wearable technologies.
