The Digital Catapult is looking for an ambassador for our IoT agenda.
This is a diverse and influential role, collaborating with startups, corporates, industry, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders working to develop programmes and products to help grow the market for companies working with IoT, remove barriers to their growth and develop the funding base to underpin these projects and programmes. You are able to look beyond short-term trends into future markets and see where the UK can be a leader in next-generation technologies and applications relating to IoT.
What You’ll Do- Responsible for driving commercial and Collaborative Research &Development revenue for the IoT programme
- Support the commercial team in client meetings by bringing your practical IoT experience and combine it with our assets and projects to the discussion
- Drive business development activities, and commercial income through strategic partnerships, and finding sponsors, partners and collaborators for projects
- Develop, test and launch business models for new project ideas to create significant impact
- Support the development of new customers and grant-funded projects with SMEs, universities and major enterprises. Maintain and grow existing partnerships, and develop new ones
- Working collaboratively with the technologists and industry specialists in manufacturing, deliver and manage projects in these areas
- Proven experience in leading and managing complex initiatives in an industrial, manufacturing and/or technology environment
- Proven track record of having commercialised IP or technology focused products from research results (academia or industrial setting)
- Strategy focused with strong business development and commercial experience, including
- market analysis skills, experience in developing business cases for market intervention, new product development, go to market, projects and programmes, and good negotiation skills
- Impeccable communication and people skills, confident in evangelising on IoT and presenting to a range of industrial and corporate audiences
- Wide and deep understanding of IoT markets in the UK and beyond including technologies, major players, startups, investors, communities, market barriers and industry trends
- Self-driven, embraces change and ambiguity and able to deliver impactful outcomes
