Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a System Software Security Technologist to join Digital Catapult working on the delivery of one of its flagship programmes. Digital Security by Design (DSbD) is a UK government-backed initiative to transform technology. This is a pivotal role within the team that works closely with Innovation Practitioners and Technologists. You will work in partnership with cutting-edge start-ups and scale-ups and early technology adopters, enabling and assisting them in their experimentation with DSbD technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in open innovation activities as an expert and mentor for SMEs and corporates, including detailed technical consulting training and assistance
- Share expertise-communicate work in presentations, blogs, technical reports, or articles and evangelise our mission and outcomes with others
- Provide technical assistance insight and leadership to our partners
- Proactively identify technical risks within projects and influence stakeholders in their resolution
- Run workshops, create training content and materials to onboard start-ups and innovators onto the acceleration programme
- Consult on software development practices and methods for a variety of Digital Catapult projects, ranging from rapid prototypes or proofs of concept to production platforms and development of open-source components
- Experiment with CHERI and the Arm Morello platforms
- Collaborate with research and industry communities that develop software and hardware for CHERI and Arm
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in developing C/C++ software for any of the following operating systems: Unix, Linux or Android
- Good Knowledge of cyber security across the stack
- Good knowledge of security concepts, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
- Proactive and self-confident, able to cope with ambiguity, changing and evolving priorities whilst being able to identify new opportunities
- Desirable Experience- Experience with the FreeBSD operating system or Clang/LLVM compiler, Knowledge of firmware and embedded operating system security principals, Familiar with the ARM/RISC-V/MIPS architecture and the micro-architecture of current ARM/RISC-V CPU cores, Experience of using CHERI and Morello platforms
