Senior Software Engineer - Mobile app developer

Summary

Designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Designs and develops security features of products including systems, applications and/or solutions. Ensures the security of all products is maintained throughout the product lifecycle. Integrates new security features, updates into existing products, and resolves integration and testing issues.

The Software Engineer will report to the Smart System and Electronics Manager and will be responsible for the development of software for systems and products and will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Kries-Energietechnik, Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications. 

Responsibilities : 
•    Create new mobile apps through the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
•    Build mobile applications for Android, iOS or other mobile platforms
•    Develop new features and user interfaces from wireframe models
•    Develop APIs for mobile functionality support and better user performance
•    Development of software for desktop including GUI
•    Work with designers and marketing team to turn design templates into working App
•    Collaborate with other software developers
•    Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
 

What your background should look like:

  • Above average degree (2:1 or higher) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or relevant field  
  • Academic experience in software engineering, ideally with professional experience as mobile App developer  
  • Experience with mobile app development languages (e.g. Swift, Kotlin, React and Flutter) 
  • Hands on experience in object-oriented programming (e.g. Java, Python, C#, C++) 
  • Preferably knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery) 
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL) 
  • Experience with lean/agile software development processes is advantageous 
  • Written and spoken fluency in English 
  • Team collaboration and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to execute engineering deliverables.
  • Strong customer service mindset, delivering quality on time.
  • Fluent communication for effective collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, strong planner, adept at balancing priorities.
  • Excellent motivational skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and on-time delivery.
  • Excellent judgment and complex problem-solving skills.
