Communications Manager

Summary

Digital Catapult is looking for a part-time Communications Manager who will be responsible for planning and executing a marcomms plan to promote our role in a major, multi-million-pound industrial project in Northern Ireland. You’ll be a confident marcomms all-rounder whose focus will be on multi-audience engagement in the tech space, developing a narrative around a project that places Northern Ireland at the cutting-edge of research and development. This role is based in Digital Catapult’s office in Belfast and is a part time opportunity (working 15 hours per week - there is flexibility offered with regards to the working pattern)

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, manage and execute communications plans and campaigns for a high-profile project
  • Create engaging content from across the marketing mix – from web copy, to press releases - to support the programme objectives and maximise results for all partners
  • Liaising with project stakeholders within Digital Catapult, and within the Northern Irish media and political landscape, to ensure consistency of narrative, messaging and brand across the project
  • Driving interest in Digital Catapult-led acceleration programmes associated with the project by developing content that gets cut through with key audiences including local media and key political stakeholders
  • Reporting and analysing results from across our different channels to track project marcomms successes
  • Provide support, where possible, to Digital Catapult Northern Ireland team on ad hoc marketing and communications requests

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience in marketing or communications, with relevant experience project managing strategic marcomms campaigns
  • Detailed knowledge of the industrial or technology landscape in Northern Ireland, and sharp awareness of the Northern Irish media landscape
  • Public relations background from an agency or in-house is desirable
  • A creative individual who can distil complex concepts into appropriate language for a variety of different stakeholders
  • Adaptable and highly organised with a keen eye for detail, a motivated individual who learns quickly and is able to plan strategically, as well as meet tight deadlines
  • This role is part of the UK Marcomms Team, the majority of which are based in London, England. Occasional travel to London and to the consortium lead’s offices in Derry/Londonderry will be required
