Programme Manager - Digital Supply Chain Innovation Hub

Summary

The Digital Supply Chain Innovation Hub (DSCIH) is a new strategic programme of work which sets out to connect manufacturing supply chain challenge owners with digital solution providers, to accelerate commercial integration of industrial digital technologies. We are looking for a Programme Manager to set up and manage the delivery of this large scale programme, including the establishment and operation of the Hub. Our philosophy is to manage the development, planning, initiation and delivery of such programmes to demonstrate impact and clear economic outcomes for the UK.

 In addition to providing leadership, direction and support to the programme team and managing internal and external senior stakeholders, the Programme Manager may also be closely involved in shaping follow up business opportunities that arise from the programme. What You’ll Do

  • Along with the Hub director and Business leads, further develop and implement a coherent programme strategy that includes a programme structure, defining workstreams, projects, operations, resourcing plans, realistic and practical goals, milestones, targets, outcomes, impact and success stories for the programme
  • Establish and service the necessary governance model to enable programme oversight and control, ensuring that the programme's goals and objectives are aligned with those of the Digital Catapult and the key external stakeholders
  • Evaluate the progress of the programme on a regular basis, taking action to ensure that programme goals are achieved and that programme outcomes and impact are maximised
  • Plan, initiate, resource and ensure delivery of the activities of the programme on budget and time, ensuring early detection and management of risks/issues and achievement of set targets
  • Work closely with the PMO on programme controls- that is the processes, reporting, communication, ensuring that policies and best practices are followed, in order to manage the programme to time, cost and quality, reporting on progress and managing risks, issues and dependencies
  • Provide coaching and guidance for successful delivery across the programme in line with Digital Catapult strategy and vision
  • Act as line manager for dedicated project management and programme administration resources

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in successfully setting up/creating and managing end-to-end programmes across multiple business stakeholders, objectives and technology stacks taking complete ownership and accountability for delivery of the programme
  • Experience in managing complex large scale technology programmes with budgets over £10M, building long term relationships with senior stakeholders in both the private and the public sector. Prior experience of managing supply chain programmes and working with Government funding bodies such as Innovate UK would be beneficial
  • Experience in delivering cross-functional Agile and Waterfall projects in a matrix organisation structure, across multiple internal and external organisations. An MSP (or equivalent) qualification would be an advantage
  • Ability to pick up subject matter expertise quickly in the given technology and specialist topic area
  • Able to map programme milestones and deliverables to Digital Catapult’s wider organisation strategy
  • Excels in leading by example and being approachable for direction or coaching needed by the programme team
  • Strength in building successful working relationships with stakeholders and partners -demonstrating empathy, influencing skills, tact and diplomacy, while remaining focused on the programme goals
  • Able to provide clear and calm direction, maintaining team focus where there is ambiguity or uncertainty, and driving a path to clarity as soon as possible
