Commercial Healthcare Opportunities-Interface between Wireless & Medical Technologies

The following report is the outcome from the ERBI and Cambridge Wireless collaboration workshop on 4th December 2008. The region's biomedical technology and wireless communities came together for a one day workshop to stimulate discussion and debate around the possibilities for wirelessly enabled medical devices.

For those of you who were able to join us at the meeting thank you again for your invaluable contributions and we hope that this may be also of interest to those unable to be present on the day.
We are now pleased to provide the outcome from the one day workshop which been a report with the hope that it will stimulate further debate about wireless medical devices, leading to innovative new products that can improve healthcare provision and quality of life.

The output from the workshop demonstrates that there is considerable opportunity in the healthcare market for wireless medical devices and the report attempts to describe the discussions accross four distinct areas of healthcare provision -assisted living, primary care, hospital care and wellness.

The aim is that the workshop and report will stimulate further debate about wireless medical devices, leading to innovate new products that can improve hearlthcare provision and quality of life.
