Dolphins on display at Cambridge Enterprise Conference!

Do you have a new technology product or exciting development that you would like to promote to potential investors, partners and the media?

Entrepreneurs are being offered a fantastic opportunity to reach the media and potential investors by demonstrating at the 10th Cambridge Enterprise Conference ‘Diving with Dolphins: Navigating International Waters’ on 23rd September 2009.

Cambridge Wireless members that have benefited from demonstrating in previous years include: Augmentra, Cambridge Temperature Concepts, Gameware Development and Alert-Me.

Helen Goldrein of Holdsworth Associates, PR Consultant for the event, urges entrepreneurs and early stage companies with near-market products or disruptive technologies to get in touch with her.

“Many of the companies were at a very early stage when they demonstrated. They benefited greatly from the positioning and messaging advice they were given, along with the media coverage and exposure with potential customers, partners and investors.”

The demonstration area or ‘Dolphinarium’ is being held alongside the 10th Cambridge Enterprise Conference ‘Diving with Dolphins’, at Churchill College on 23 September 2009. The theme is internationalism and the event will be exploring the diverse strategies that have been used by high tech companies to penetrate overseas markets.

As well as meeting representatives from national, regional and trade press and broadcast media, demonstrators will also be able to show their wares to conference delegates including potential investors, advisors, partners and customers.

Those selected to take part will receive PR consultancy support, and have a press release professionally written and widely distributed. Participants will be given help in identifying their key media messages and developing their communication skills. Six of the companies will also be given the chance to present an elevator pitch to the assembled conference delegates and will be given advice and coaching on doing this. There is no charge for participating companies.

Those taking part should have near-market products or early-stage technology which can be demonstrated. In previous years, demonstrations have included scale models, prototype devices, interactive videos, online demos, and even live animals! Participants are encouraged to use creativity to engage their audience and tell their story.

‘Diving with Dolphins: Navigating International Waters' is a joint initiative between St John’s Innovation Centre, The Greater Cambridge Partnership and NW Brown Group. It is sponsored by Peters Elworthy and Moore (PEM) and St John’s Innovation Centre and supported by Business Link East and the East of England Development Agency.
