China Trade Delegations
The World Expo is a large-scale, global, non-commercial event. Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicise and display their achievements and improve international relationships.
Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology. The Shanghai World Expo will run from May through to the end of October 2010 and is themed “Better City Better Life”.
Enabling Innovation – UK China partnership in ICT was launched in October 2008 in Beijing, with support from some of the UK’s leading industry players such as BT, Vodafone, Sony Ericsson and ARM. To date, the initiative has helped over 100 UK companies to better understand the market opportunities and potential technology collaborations with top Chinese multinationals.
UK capability and support UK companies in entering the market. The activity will include 3 missions of around 50 UK Technology companies into China during the week of the 5th July.
- Mission 1 – focus on Communications and M2M and will visit Beijing; Guangzhou & Shenzhen; Wuxi; Shanghai
- Mission 2 – focus on Consumer Electronics & Electronic Design and will visit Beijing; Chengdu; Qingdao; Shanghai
- Mission 3 – focus on e-Health & telemedicine and will visit Beijing; Chengdu; Shenzhen; Shanghai
Programme of activity will include seminars and panel sessions; site visits to key Chinese companies; one to one meetings and table top exhibitions.
