Enabling a Digital Olympics

Through a keynote speech and discussion-based panel with industry experts, this session will aim to put the Olympic Games under the technology spotlight, assessing the impact of digital media on the Olympic Movement, through answering questions such as: Was Beijing 2008 really the first digital Olympics? How did Vancouver 2010 build on this and what will London 2012 and beyond do to maximise digital technologies? How important is social media to Olympic organising committees as part of their activities? Can we expect to see more mobile technology utilised at London 2012 and beyond? Are Olympic sponsors maximising digital marketing tools fully? How are the various technology partners of London 2012 and Sochi 2014 leveraging their agreements in order to showcase their capabilities effectively?
