Blackberry 10 - The Future for Developers

Calling All Developers! BlackBerry launched their new operating system BlackBerry 10 on January 30th with the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, amid much excitement and anticipation. At the time of the launch BlackBerry already had over 70,000 apps in its BlackBerry World store in many different categories and from developers all around the world. At this event Gregor Park, Senior Marketing Manager, Global Apps and Partner Propositions, BlackBerry and Simon Howard, Developer Evangelist, BlackBerry will talk about this exciting new platform and how you can develop for it. The session will explore it from business and technical viewpoints.

Session 1: So what is BlackBerry 10?

Gregor Park, Senior Marketing Manager, Global Apps & Partner Proposition, BlackBerry

Gregor will give you all the reasons you could need to decide to develop for BlackBerry 10. He will talk about topics such as market opportunity and monetising your app.

 

Session 2: Developing apps for BlackBerry 10

Simon Howard, Developer Evangelist, RIM, UK

This is a technical session, and is presented by Simon, who will talk about the architecture of the platform, the various SDKs and tools you can use and how you go about creating that cool app for the platform. Simon will include a few interesting demos that will leave you wanting to develop for the platform.

The event will be Chaired by Phil Burr of Mentor Graphics and Cambridge Wireless Software SIG Champion

The evening will be rounded off by an open forum giving you the opportunity to pose any further questions to our speakers. A drinks reception will follow allowing ample time to follow-up discussions initiated in the forum section and continued networking.
