Siklu Captures E-Band Leadership
PETACH TIKVA, Israel, January 21, 2013 — With sales of its EtherHaul system seeing triple-digit percentage growth in 2012, Siklu has moved into a clear leadership position in the E-band millimeter wave market, the company announced today.
Siklu sold more than 5,000 EtherHaul units in 2012, winning several key service provider and operator contracts, along with steady growth in its private network sales. The company has also seen its equipment become the leading gear in operator and service provider trials in the course of the past year. With a total of more than 7,000 units deployed, Siklu has achieved industry leadership through its field-proven, highly reliable, carrier-grade technology.
Siklu’s EtherHaul, operating in the licensed E-band spectrum, is ideal for shorter-distance, high-bandwidth connections. Its proven reliability and technology excellence have powered its tremendous sales growth, aided by the fact that EtherHaul’s truly innovative all-silicon design enables a price point as low as one-third that of competitors’ offerings. EtherHaul is now operating in scores of operator and enterprise networks in Europe and North America.
Itzik Ben-Bassat, Siklu CEO, noted that Siklu has won half a dozen recent service provider contracts across Europe, from Russia to Ireland. Currently, EtherHaul is short-listed in several other pending Tier 1 service provider contracts.
“As impressive as our sales figures and triple-digit growth may be, they don’t tell the whole story,” Ben-Bassat said. “We have also devoted great effort to be sure Siklu is well positioned for what we see as the E-band mass market inflection point, which we expect in 2013.
“As the proven price-performance leader, we have a full product offering. Along with our E-band, FDD and TDD (frequency division and time division duplexing), systems and antennas, Siklu offers the smallest form factor V-band products, leading the path to small cell backhaul deployments. We are essentially a one-stop millimeter wave shop.”
