TestPlant announces localisation of eggPlant for Chinese market
Software quality a key factor in burgeoning Chinese software market London, UK and Beijing, China – December 3, 2013 – TestPlant today announced that its patented software quality tool, eggPlant, is to be localized for the Chinese market. The announcement was made as part of a UK trade mission to China, led by the British Prime Minister, David Cameron.
TestPlant’s products are already widely in use in China, but predominantly in the hands of non-Chinese businesses, such as CISCO and GE Healthcare, in their software development centers in China. The move to localize all of the commands in eggPlant into Chinese is in recognition of the growth of China’s software development sector. TestPlant has identified a key opportunity to help the country’s biggest makers and users of software further improve the style, quality and robustness of their software systems.
eggPlant is a range of test tools that helps teams get software products to market faster, with higher quality, less effort, and clearer traceability. Through unique technology, eggPlant tools combine power and flexibility with a simplicity that means any tester can be productive in hours.
The mobile application development market is of particular relevance to TestPlant and the deployment of mobile apps in sectors such as banking, healthcare and entertainment can benefit considerably from the advantages of lowered costs, greater project productivity and reduced time-to-market derived through the use of eggPlant.
“We’re thrilled to be able to announce the introduction of a Chinese version of eggPlant, while I’m in Beijing with the Prime Minister,” said Mr. George Mackintosh, CEO of TestPlant. “Chinese businesses are rushing to develop software apps which will be sold to a global market and eggPlant is an internationally recognized standard for assuring quality for world brands such as BMW and Coca Cola.”
“I am delighted that TestPlant are joining me in the largest British business delegation to go to China this century,” said David Cameron, Prime Minister. “This Government’s priority is to secure the economic recovery and we are determined to do all we can to help British companies succeed in the global race.”
“I am firmly committed to playing my part which is why I have taken more than 130 business delegates to China, including TestPlant. My aim is to open the door for them in this fast-growing market, creating opportunities for them to expand their business.”
The localization work is being done in partnership with the VMLite Corporation of Changsha, Hunan. The technical relationship with its Chinese partner has already resulted in TestPlant securing contracts with several major enterprise customers in the United States, including Motorola Solutions and AT&T.
“I welcome the extending of the UK and Chinese relationship between our two companies, which will introduce an accessible and radically better way to test desktop and mobile systems to software developers in China,” said Mr. Huihong Luo, President of VMLite Corporation.
TestPlant was a winner of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2013 for its outstanding export performance.
