This week, Handling Conflict on 4 July acknowledges that when conflict occurs, it can have a far-reaching impact on motivation and performance. Conflict can break down relations and damage trust - and in some cases may require skillful intervention to resolve the situation.

Managers who have an understanding of how to avoid and manage conflict situations can help maintain harmony and achieve greater team effectiveness. This one-day programme looks at the main strategies of conflict and typical behaviours that should be managed to help reduce both the frequency and impact of conflict.

Early in the autumn, 21st Century Leadership (11-12 September) is a new two-day interactive, reflective and highly practical course, leading to concrete actions to achieve success through positive and engaging leadership behaviours.

Offered by Development Group International (DGI) - the training organisation which delivers Transition to Management courses - this follow-on course focuses on getting individuals to recognise their natural approach to leadership, to understand where they may benefit from adjusting their style and to be clear on the key challenges a leader must face. Business will always demand 'the outcome' (strategic goals) but it is how we get there that will dictate the long term success of the organisation. And the how is down to us; leaders at whatever level of our company.?
