Skills shortages for Analogue Electronics & Power Electronics Design Engineers
The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) is reviewing occupations within ICT sector to determine whether there is a shortage of labour for specific roles.
If this can be identified and quantified by industry, it would be sensible to fill those jobs using labour from outside the European Economic Area. The Short Occupation list refers to Graduate level skills. If industry can make the case, the MAC will include those job descriptions on the Shortage Occupation List.
We think that there are two key job functions/roles that SHOULD be included on the Shortage Occupation list, and these are:
Analogue Electronics Design Engineers and Power Electronics Design Engineers within the electronics system design industries.
If you can identify with this issues (i.e. you have skills shortages in these roles and would like to ensure that these functions are included in the Shortage Occupation List), then please respond to this simplest of surveys. All we will need to know is whether or not you have skills shortages in these areas and roughly how many vacancies you have per annum.
