Register now for Agri-Tech East's 'Remote Sensing and Monitoring Technologies' SIG

This Special Interest Group on Thursday 11th December will give your attendees an opportunity to learn what remote sensing is all about, what technologies are currently available, and what the future could look like. They’ll also be able to hear directly from end users and have an opportunity to inform future developments in the industry.

Date:  Thursday 11th December

Time:  1pm - 5pm

Venue: Colin Chapman Room, Hethel Engineering Centre, Chapman Way, Norwich NR14 8FB

What is it about?

Remote sensing technologies have existed in agriculture environments for a number of years but have yet to be widely adopted and integrated with other farming practices. As the technology rapidly develops and becomes more viable for the everyday user, we're going to inform attendees about the tech and explore its potential uses.

  • Cambridgeshire-based Delta-T Devices will be giving an foundation overview of the remote sensing and monitoring technologies as they exist today
  • HexCam - a Norwich-based SME - will be talking about how drones, or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, may become a regular sight in the fields
  • Mike Birkett, Deputy Head of the Biological Chemistry and Crop Protection Department at Rothamsted Research, who will be discussing the potential role plants as monitors and detectors of overall crop health in the field.

We'll also be discussing remote sensing in smaller groups and in more detail, so there will be plenty of time to debate with individuals from a range of industries and to have your questions and thoughts heard, as well as having input into the strategic direction of this Special Interest Group.

Special Introductory Price:  £35 for members, £50 for non-members
