Top communications innovators named as IET awards finalists

The 2015 IET Innovation Awards shortlist has been announced! With a reputation as one of the most rigorously peer-reviewed awards in the industry, innovators from 28 countries submitted their new work this year, and the top five in each of the 15 categories have been selected for the final.

The following innovations have been shortlisted in the Communications category:
  • 60GHz lightning module Blu Wireless Technology
  • Smartphone probe for monitoring remote patients transmitting wireless healthcare data Bournemouth University and Royal Bournemouth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Automating network design of fibre-to-the-premises for new housing sites BT plc
  • MiCLK SFP-based IEEE 1588 Grandmaster and GNSS receiver RAD
  • Molecular communications for nano-scale applications University of Warwick
The winners of all 15 award categories will be revealed at the black-tie dinner and ceremony on 18 November, at The Brewery in London. Host for the evening is television presenter Ortis Deley, best known for his work on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show.
