Showcasing the UK’s race to develop connected devices of the future at MWC

CW set to host thought leadership session at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona

At next week’s Mobile World Congress, CW (Cambridge Wireless) will hold a 90 minute thought leadership session exploring how UK companies are delivering the connected devices, services and businesses of the future. Talks will cover possible solutions to the lack of a single standard for connectivity and the costs involved in scaling up production, distribution, commissioning and maintenance. The session will also delve into how UK companies are utilising large scale process automation and system optimisation to achieve greater levels of operational efficiency and a sharing economy that offers benefits to all participants in the value chain.

The session will be chaired by Abhi Naha, Head of Business Development and Marketing at CW. Keynote speakers include Simon Fletcher, CTO of Real Wireless, Peter Whale, Director of Product Marketing at Iotic Labs, Steve Baker, Business Development Manager at TTP and Gary Stewart, Director of Wayra UK,  Telefonica’s start up accelerator. Stewart will be introducing delegates to three innovative start–ups that are shaping the future of connected Devices; Little Riot, whose products encourage meaningful interactions between individuals, nCube, an app that can control all your smart home devices and 1248 Ltd, a device manager that reduces the operational costs of scaling up connected devices.

“The UK has every chance to lead the race in developing the connected devices of the future. However to do so we must develop innovative new business models that are capable of keeping pace with the expected rapid deployment of the technology,” said Abhi Naha. “‘We are delighted to have Wayra, one of the top accelerators in the UK, with us in Barcelona to provide a snapshot of some of the companies that are just starting out on this exciting journey.”

The CW Future Connected Devices session at Mobile World Congress will take place on Wednesday 24th February between 10:30 until 12:00 at UK Trade and Investment Stand 7C40 in Hall 7.
